Causway Project Needs your Support

As many of you know, I have been working on a project with a dedicated group of indiviuals to improve the Long Point causeway for wildlife and also improve the hydrology of the Big Creek marsh. The casueway is one of the deadliest stretches of road in North America for rare and endangered wildlife. Our group is competing with seven other environmental projects for one of two $100,000 grants from the Shell Foundation’s FuelingChange program. The public is being invited to vote for the projects that they feel is most deserving of funding.

Here’s a link to the Causeway Project page on the Shell site which also contains info on how you can vote for the Project and obtain additional votes by purchasing Shell gas and products. There are Shell gas stations in Simcoe and Tillsonnburg.

Please pass along this info to your network of friends and colleagues.

Thanks,

Paul Ashley

Crimestoppers ATV thefts in area!!

May 29, 2011, Haldimand, Norfolk & Tillsonburg, Ontario….The theft of ATV’s is an issue in every community and your help is required to stop this illegal activity in ours!

If you own an ATV, there are many preventative measures you can take so you don’t lose your ATV to thieves.

Ø     Register your ATV at the time of purchase.

Ø     Keep your ownership documents in a safe place – not on the ATV.

Ø     Record the serial number and keep it on file.

Ø     Use a metal-etching tool to mark personal information, such as name and address in an obscure spot.

Ø     Never leave the key in the ignition.

Ø     Whenever possible, park your ATV inside a locked structure with a theft prevention device.

Ø     If you can’t park your ATV inside a secured structure, use a theft prevention device such as wheel lock, chain or alarm.

What else can you do? Well, if you’re “in the know,” and are aware of who may be responsible for stealing ATV’s here’s your chance to earn some dough.
